Just found out I will be moving to Alaska in Aug. I just the military doesn’t like me too close...
Hoping to find some 4runners to adventure with and help with some mods soon to come.

Now I just have to figure out my priority list of things to buy before moving so I don’t have to pay outrageous shipping costs

C4 Lo-pro (super expensive to ship to AK)
Toytec lift (super expensive to ship to AK)
Winch (I found it on amazon, so shipping doesn’t matter)
Sliders (expensive to ship to AK)

At least I already have my roof rack.....

Cheers

Owen

Hey Owen,
it doesn't feel like you were around for a year, this is crazy! we didn't even have a chance to hit trails!
Thank you for your service and I hope you and your family enjoy Alaska

I don't leave until Aug, so I still have some time to get out. It has been a fast year though. Hard to get out onto trails also with the little man. He would rather run on the trails than be strapped into his car seat.

Still hoping to get out a bit though before Aug.

Owen I feel you on the shipping cost it was $150 to ship my bumper to Anchorage been thinking about getting the sliders as well. Shoot me a message if you have any questions Alaska is beautiful and has plenty of places to get the tires muddy!

Unless is it's on Amazon it's crazy expensive to ship to Alaska. I just ordered some SCS Ray10's and shipping was $400. I ended up shipping them to family in the lower 48 who will bring them up when they fly to AK next month.

I don't trail but I know see people she I'm out camping. There's a nice trail that goes out to a Glacier. I went to this shop for some tubing I needed and they had some crazy Toyotas all over the place. I'm sure they could point you in the right direction for some mudding trail stuff

Get your mods done before moving up into the 907. Shipping is a killer! I don't worry about shipping cost anymore since I moved out. Good Luck and be safe! Will you be doing the roadtrip?

$150? That’s a steal. I was looking at 600 for hybrid bumper and 400 for lift
But I will definitely buzz you for some trails
Thanks

I actually saw that off-road shop. I was thinking about calling them and asking if I could order the lift through them to see if it would be cheaper.
Thanks for the heads up

I don’t think I will have time for the mods before I go, but I wanted to make the purchases if I can muster up all the cash, then ship the items up with all my gear/household stuff.
I will probably drive myself and our dogs; the wife and little man will probably fly. I was looking at routes of national parks from here in AZ (based out of Luke AFB currently) up the West coast, camp at NPs and through Canada.

That's awesome! I'm at Luke as well and will be heading up there June next year after my tour in Korea. This will be our second time around in Elmo, and we loved it there.
We've just picked up a 2018 4R ORP and i was wondering the same thing about mods and shipping. I might have to keep mine stock with bigger wheels while up there unless I can do all the mods before we head up. Maybe I'll see you there next summer!

Right on.
I will probably have the bumper and lift shipped here, then TMO can ship them up, and I’ll install up there.

I say save the $$ till you move back to the lower 48 lol. Btw... not all items from amazon can ship to AK especially heavy items. Before I drove up here at Eielson, I had a lift, new wheels/tires installed, then I picked up a set of OPOR sliders from metal tech on the way and that’s it for me (for now) until I move back.

Also, there’s a group on fb called 907 yotas and they plan trips around AK. Anyways, good luck with and enjoy the drive!
