So I went to discount tire today in the Phoenix east valley area and they are not able to balance my tires on the runner at this location! I have the Tundra wheels/tires on it and they loaded the weights on the inside and outside and still not able to balance them. They used the only system that they have which balances the wheels like they are on the vehicle "hunter GSP9200' I think was the machine and he said he used the 6 bolt hub that bolts the wheel to the balancing machine. Anyone know of a good shop in the East Valley? I am in the Queen Creek area but want a good shop. Any advice....PLEASE HELP!!!:sobbing:

Can't vouch for any shops down in QC but there's a mom and pop shop on McDonald and Granite Reef up in Scottsdale that I take most of my stuff to that DT won't touch... very cheap too for mechanical work... let me know and I can give you more info if you like!

Are your tires round? You can't balance them if the tires are worn unevenly or the wheels are warped or bent. Jack up one of the wheels in question enough to clear the ground and give it a spin. If it's not almost perfectly round it won't be able to be balanced. Also check the date code on the tires and if they are over 4 years old they probably need to be replaced because the rubber goes bad and starts to harden after 48 months, even faster in this heat. If it's harder on one side you won't be able to balance them. I have a bubble balancer that does a good job and can balance them if they are able to be balanced. Normally they shouldn't take more than one weight, sometimes 2. If they can't balance them at the shop then you probably need new tires and possibly wheels too.

I would remove ALL the weights to start with. New tires, if they are properly made and installed correctly, don't usually need any weights at all or maybe just one to get perfect balance. They should be fine without any weights if you don't go over 100MPH. Check that your tires were mounted on the wheels correctly. The seams on the tires around the edge of the wheels should be even and uniformly spaced around the wheels on both sides and the dots painted on the sides of the tires to indicate where they should be placed in relation to the valve stems should ACTUALLY be next to the valve stems. If the painted dot isn't next to the valve stem you should take them back to the tire store and have them mounted correctly.
Did you spin the wheels to check if they are actually round?

Where did you buy the tires? Weren't they balanced when they were installed? Why do you think they need balancing now? They should still be in balance after only 8000 miles.
