I am looking for a good suspension/front end person in the Twin Cities, MN. My 4runner just isn't driving the way she used to and I would like to get to the bottom of it without going to the dealer. I don't do the work myself so I am hoping to find a local mechanic that has a better than average knowledge of the 4runners. My 2006 sport edition V6 has gone through the tacoma suspension swap with FJ springs in the rear and was doing fine until I had a set of Cooper AT3's put on. Front end has felt loose and there is a clunk over the small bumps that wasn't there before. Dealer looked at the front and said nothing appears to be wrong. I was going to put new sway bar bushings on but the bolts are so rusted that I decided to wait. At this point I would like to take it to someone knowledgeable that can help. Hoping that maybe an alignment, some new bushings and maybe a steering rack tightening she'll be the way she was. I am at 160K miles and with the rust that comes from 11 years on Minnesota roads I am thinking it may be time to move on.
