Anyone know if a 1g gte will bolt to a 3rd gen transmission?

I have a chance to buy a 1g gte twin turbo swap for a really good deal and was thinking it would be a cool swap for my 4runner. However there is almost no information out there on swapping it into a 4runner. A couple of people have put it into first gens, but im not sure whats been done about the transmission. If anyone has any idea and can help me out. I dont want to buy it and tear my truck apart to find out im going to have to do a trans swap too. Thanks

Found a few threads on other forums about supra engine swaps - you're definitely right about people putting them in first gens. From what I can tell the v6 trans cause more problems than the 22r.
