Anyone Know the Crab Flats Area by Big Bear really well?

Hey T4R Crew, I recently purchased a great 2000 SR5 to start exploring the OHV areas by our little cabin in Green Valley Lake (right by the big Crab Flats off roading area). I know the dirt roads surrounding Green Valley like the back of my hand (2N13,2N54,etc), but was wondering if anyone knows any fun trails a little further in the backcountry area (Deep Creek/Crab Flat/Big Pine).

My rig has 33's on a 3" lift so it's capable of some fun stuff (no winch just yet but soon), but I'm not yet into gnarly rock crawling trails where damage is eminent (I saw one trail that looked ridiculous

I have some good maps of the area and would like to plot out a fun route for 4X excursions. There looks like a lot of fun side roads off the main dirt road to the campgrounds and was wondering if anyone had any fun little loops they could suggest. Thanks

Im in the process of buying a 3rd Gen and going to want to take it out asap, very little of road experience, but would like to join you and learn what I can. Want to check out some hunting in the area also.

Please let me know when you do find a rig and want to do a little 4x4 exploring. I found some trails that look that look really fun but would feel much better stepping it up a notch if there was another vehicle with me in case of any mishaps.

Besides, it would be cool to meet some other T4R.ORG members and you are really close to some fun trail driving in Apple Valley. Shoot me a PM whenever you're ready.

It'll probably be a few weeks still unfortunately, but if you need a spotter and wanna check the area out we can meet up. I have been up in that area a little with a 2wd frontier so I kinda know the crab and bacon flats area.

Anytime, shoot me a message next time you plan on a drive up this way and we'll meet up. Had a blast snow trail driving all day yesterday. We got about 6" here in town and up to 10" in some of the higher canyons we were in - way too much fun !!

Hey GVL... So I'm kinda in the planning stage for a Big Bear trail ride. Throwing some dates out there for Keemo to check n see if its doable. Thinking the weekend after Mothers Day, May 17th or May 24th..? Thinking of doing Lower Larga Flats again(2N09X I believe), maybe Gold Mtn. Just tossing around some ideas. I'm open to any suggestions. :loco: :biggrin1: :der:

Ran Lower Larga and White Mtn. yesterday. They were both tough as the runoff from the snowmelt has carved some deep channels in the trails making for a lot of off-camber thrills!
