I'm thinking of doing mine and putting them back on. anybody done it?
I used plasti-dip back in 2011. Once I liked the coat I applied, I clear coated it. Now in 2016, its still great looking!
Nope, just normal rustoleum clear cloat (clear)
i used bedliner rubberized spray.. which is basically plastic dip.. i think it came out great.. i did spray the step parts with black trim pain and flat clear.. so that should be fine for the long term..
i prepped it good.. took it off the truck...
I was so impressed with plastic dip, I am in the process of dipping my wheels now.. I'm stoked so far.. so easy to use.. really tough to mess up.. i hear people saying it last for a long time and durable.. except in this thread apparently..
guess i will find out soon enough..
It's been a while - how's this hold up over time?
plastidip is garbage... Rust-Oleum high performance enamel has been really fantastic.
I off road, I step on it regularly, and it just holds up really well. If I get on the rocks, a light touchup and good as new. Its been about 4-5 years since I did it, but it's solid. Impressive for a rattle can paint job.
