Yep, mine is not a crossflow, I'm betting its not that this it just a random pic. It cools well, been installed about 6 months, I bought the shorty for a 4 cyl, but it is 3 times the thickness of a factory one. meaning the core is full thickness of the tanks, 3 rows not one.

I saw one ( a champion) on a guys 4runner years back but I thought it had a shroud, were you able to attach a shroud
does it have the correct fittings for the auto trans
what is that on your upper hose ?

This truck has had so many variations to the radiator. Mine is a short 4cyl radiator because of my SAS and the front spring hangers, I can post up picks, also I have all three sizes.
yes the factory shroud will fit, I just don't have one now, I need one, and the adapter in the hose is a temp switch to control an electric fan. the fan worked well, but with the shroud, fan and larger radiator, it would not clear the motor so I went to the mechanical fan.
I still have the electric fan, the adapter, the switch and shroud. the small single core shorty 4cyl radiator just could not cool the 5000lb V6.
the aluminum Champion works VERY well.
Does the rad in the last picture with the aluminum shroud and electric fan come from the same company?

Im in the process of SASing my truck and trying to het all the parts. The link you put up in the beginning is the shorty rad?

No, that's all custom, Built from catalog parts. the shroud was from Speedway Automotive, And the fan is the largest straight blade fan I could get to fit. Straight blades pull much more air, but are loud as hell.
I didn't want a flat plate with a hole cut in it. The shroud helps draw air across the whole radiator not just where the fan is.
the factory mechanical fan is less complicated and works well with a good radiator.
somewhere I have the specs for all three radiator sizes that came in these trucks.
The idea was I went to a smaller radiator so I wanted max air across the radiator at low crawling speeds to cool at idle, but the single core small radiator couldn't dissipate the heat under load.
All of it's for sale, but I don't really want to ship.
That looks a lot like the SPAL 16" fan I have, is that also what you have? Mine is a curved blade design though.
That's exactly what it is, the straight blade had a higher CFM#
I have the relay and a temp switch mounted in the upper hose for it also.
it just couldn't cool the small radiator.
so I gutted all of it and went to a 4cyl. Tacoma "Shorty" 3 core Champion rad. it's above the frame rails.
and back to the mechanical fan, I still need a factory shroud.
No that link was for the direct replacement. The one I used was a 4cyl Taco.
It's not a direct fit, the cap touches the hood. It will bolt in place with the factory hardware but the bottom of the shroud will need to be cut to clear your SAS. if your not good with cutting the hood Either do your own research and see if there is one that fits without cutting or move forward at your own risk.
I had a 2" body lift and pulled it off making my space for a radiator even smaller.
This is the radiator I installed.

As a side note we went to Running Springs Yesterday 6100' elevation, drove it about 125 miles. Water saw a high of 185* and trans peaked at 190*. So I'm happy with it, and I still don't have a factory fan shroud yet.
37's, 4.88 gears, locked, Auto, Truck weighed about 5500# this trip.
Hope this helps.
