ARB drawers!

Anyone know if you can modify the mounting to use the factory threaded mounts for the slider versus drilling through the floor?

There may some sort of wizardry that you could pull off, but there was none obvious to me when I did the install.

i would love a group buy on ARB, TruckVault, or Tuffy Drawers.

jicko can you work your magic??

If you send me some names/contacts/sites of distributors/vendors who sell these drawers.... I can reach out and see if I can work something out.

If there is enough interest, I can start a "feeler" thread.... having 10-20 potential purchasers will give me the power to negotiate....

I just installed my BeyondCargoTray today..... having an extended platform is VERY cool.... I can't imagine how good it will be with the drawers!! Unfortunately, I have the 3rd row seats and I do need to use them a couple of times per year so.... I can't really do the ARB or any other type of drawers!

joneseyyy, read both this post and follow your website too (lots of good stuff there!). Did you have the sliding try before the drawers? And if so, how hard was it mounting up the drawers?

Hey, thanks for reading DirtRoadTrip! I did have the sliding tray (still have it in the attic somewhere). So, needless to say I removed the tray to install the drawers - you wouldn't want both. The mounting wasn't very hard, nor was removing the sliding tray or the carpet for test fitting and drilling (I mounted the drawers through the actual body). I seriously did this install over about 6 hours in a parking spot in Washington DC when I used to live there. Hardest part of the install was making sure my tools didn't get stolen;)

Awesome, thank you! Thinking of adding the Goose-Gear plate to make install/removal that much easier. Cant be the price, especially with the GB going on.

joneseyyy Is that lower drawer level with the seats when they are folded down? I'm looking for something I can sleep on.

Forgot to ask- what is the actual inside height of the drawers? I have a VIAIR 400p hoping to put in them, think its about 8" high.

I'm also interested in this answer. I'm about to pull the trigger on just the RDRF945 model (11" high w/ roller floor).

How has your setup been working out for you? Anything that you would do differently? I plan to buy a second 11" high drawer (w/o roller floor) later down the road. I will probably strap my Engel cooler to the slider instead of a fridge.

Thanks!

Here's the inside heights of the standard height and low profile drawers. An 8" talk compressor won't fit. Could you lay it on its side?

I continue to be happy woty the drawers after 5 years with them. The only issue ive ever had is the internal stops that hokd the drawers open breaking. When that happened 3 years into ownership (and past warranty), ARB sent the replacements free of charge no questions asked. Ive always been 100% pleased with ARB.

Thanks! I just pulled the trigger on the 1st half - standard height drawer w/ roller top. I ordered it through 4WP since they had free shipping and 10% off.

Looking forward to getting mine mounted, hopefully its not too much of a PITA!

Did ARB supply all the required hardware to bolt it to the floor? I was going to install a plate system in the cargo area, but i might hold off on that if i can just use the supplied hardware.

They provide a ton of mounting hardware. I'd wait.

For my needs, I am really happy with my setup. If I was starting over, I may have considered 2 of the full-depth drawers, but then I'd be dealing with the fridge being 7" higher (and it is already hard to reach!) Overall I can easily fit all my recovery gear and tools I want with me at all times.

What if you had the fridge on a tilt or drop down slide? Would you definitely get the taller drawer then? Also, it's been a few years since this post. Any regrets? Still using this setup?
