Are All Sliders Like This? - Panel Gap

Hey there. Love my sliders but a little annoyed how the gap sits between the metal and the panel.

I never thought of this as a variable when considering which slider I go with.

Are all sliders like this?

I have BAMF (Bay Area Metal Fabrication) Sliders. Great product and rugged. 10 Degree angle. Maybe about a 2 inch + gap.

Might switch out one day to Aluminum Side Steps / Rocker Gaurds ? Green Lane Offroad.

No. Most sit the long square tube directly beneath the pinch weld. That way when they flex up into the body - it hits the pinch weld over the entire length rather than just the tops of the tubes that extend the slider out from the frame rail.
 
First thing I would do is ask the manufacturer.

Most bolt on sliders allow for vertical adjustment. If yours are at upward vertical max, it seems like a lot of space. But you don't want them so high you'll get rubbing and clunking on the rocker with frame flex.

in your first pic - remove that plastic piece that it's resting against in the back. i think it's 2 bolts.

This. It'll allow you to snug the sliders closer to the lower trim. I have seen others from BAMF and they are closer.

Also, if you plan on using your sliders, don't go aluminum... You'll regret it when they flex / bend / dent. If you're using them, sliders take some of the hardest abuse out of all the armor. Go steel or go home.

Plus the additional weight at the rockers does lower the center of gravity some. Not as much as steel skids, but some nontheless.

I've tried reaching out to BAMF. We'll see what they say.
