are door latches repairable?

After nearly 300K miles, the front and tailgate latches seem to be wearing out. Replacements are more than $150 each. So is it possible to disassemble them and replace or repair internal parts? My first look at the tailgate latch tells me that getting in will be tough - the assembly pins are pressed at the ends, and it looks like I would have to grind them off.

Or am I missing something?

Just go to a PicknPull and snag one off a wrecked rig. Easy Peasy.

Be grateful your not in the rust belt. Yes the door handles will be easily replaced. The rear tailgate handle is accessible via the inside on your rig under your plastic.

I had an issue with my tailgate latch. All I had to do was clean it out a little bit. Then I disconnected the switch that sends the signal to the door light on the dash and the light in the back. It kept moving just enough to set it off. Don't need to replace a battery jist yet lol.

My rear hatch was hit and miss to open until I took and 1/8 scale think of rust off the handle bar. Now it works like new..:/
