Arizona Club

Hey all, just moved down in February to Buckeye, and then to Mesa in 3 weeks. Haven't really done any exploring or anything because I have no idea where to go, or folk to go with! Running a 97 SR5 4Runner, stock (currently). Would love to find some dirt roads or trails that would make easy day trips to feed the exploring bug!

Hey guys im local to az, just got out of the whole tuner game and sold the fast cars to get back into the offroading and truck world, have a 3rd gen 4runner fairly stock, center locker and geolander ats, wanted to start getting to know more people so if anyones heading out let me know and ill join! -Tyler

Looks like there are some people interested in getting something started - that's great!

I'm always looking for new people to go wheelin with - and better yet, other Toyotas to go wheelin with.

I belong to a few local clubs that do runs pretty often and they are open to anyone to come along. We do runs all over the state. Last weekend we were up in Flagstaff at the Cinders and the weekend before we did Payette Draw in Payson.

I am not sure what the next trips are yet, but I can keep everyone posted. One of the clubs does easy to moderate trails where the other does mostly difficult and some moderate trials. Plus I organize my own trips which are typically easy/moderate and typically include some kind of actual destination like ghost towns, mining camps, mines, old cabins, etc... I don't have anything planned just yet either because I also volunteer with Tonto National Forest and I am working on a special project with them. Plus I am one of the organizers of the annual 4 Peaks Cleanup (Nov 1st this year) which is going to be the biggest cleanup event since we started this 8 years ago.

I have a few upcoming trips in the works right now. Nothing is for sure yet, not dates or locations, but I'm working on a few. Probably something at Table Mesa, Black Canyon City overlook/pipeline trail, something easier like 7 Springs/Camp Creek to Sheep Bridge then Bloody Basin to I-17. Going to plan a Fall Colors run up in Payson too, probably run Rim Rd from east to west, then a few other trails south of there, I can't think of their names/numbers right now.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

I would love to explore table mesa and area let me know when you are planning to go and I will try to make it. also you are welcome to join us in Florance the end of November

Nice! I'll see if I can get out there. I am on the WAZ facebook page, but haven't made it out to any events. Been really busy the past few months. After Oct 21 I'll be much more available.

I'm going to make some plans for Oct 25th and Nov 8th and one will be Table Mesa - which weekend would better for you?

Also - if anyone in AZ is available, I am helping organize the biggest trail clean up Arizona has ever seen at 4 Peaks on Nov 1st!

Hey! Welcome to the fun :)

Doesn't matter that you're new, we all started out in the same place.

This weekend is a huge event I've been helping organize up at 4 Peaks - if you're not doing anything Saturday, come out and give us a hand. We are expecting around 500 volunteers, lunch will be provided and there is 2 raffles this time. I'll be there with both my 4Runners. I'll be wearing a red 4Peaks Cleanup Staff shirt and I'll be hanging out at the main area where the dumpsters are - come by and say hi - Jeff
 
I'm new to the forum and to my 2014 SR5 4Runner. I'd like to get out a bit more with some more experienced folks. My runner is stock at the moment (including the Dueler HT tires) but it's surprisingly capable from what I've run so far.

Actually ran Bulldog Canyon this afternoon. Took the North entrance and FR10 down to the FR1356 junction and then took 1356 out to the 88. FR10 has some pretty gnarley parts as you get closer to 1356. Was able to do those without bottoming out going downhill, but I'm thinking I'd get hosed going back up... Anyway, it was a fun run!

I'd like to get out there with some other owners on a few moderate trails. I'd like to see what this vehicle can do!

Welcome to the fun Jeff!

This time of year I get out and do a lot of wheelin - everything from super easy stuff any 4wd vehicle can handle to very hard stuff that you might get classified as insane for trying. But mostly moderate stuff :)

I live in Chandler also - I might do some wheelin Sunday at either Lower Sycamore or Butcher Jones area, both not too far away from the North Entrance off Bush Highway. what I like about those areas is that there is a little bit of everything out there for all vehicle types and driver skill levels. I've been wheelin that area for 13+ years, that is where I learned what my trucks can/can't do. And I have recovery equipment, tow-straps and such for those just in case times.
