Don't forget you can negotiate with the local store too. Just got discoverer at3s for a pretty good bargain by going in and talking to the guy. I'm really happy with our local store.

FYI...

When you register for the Cooper Tire rebate and put down your address, and then you move from that address, the rebate debit card will NOT get forwarded to your new address. But a quick call to Cooper got the cards ($60 for my wife's tires, $80 rebate for mine) re-issued to my new address.
 
this deal is definitely awesome, I seen it the first time around this thread was created..

then got the email from ebay about this promotion, only to be reminded they don't ship this awesomeness to Hawaii.. haha.
 
Oh geez, I was going to put off my tires and wheels until fall.

But if I mix and match things right, I can hit that $100 rebate three times on three separate orders (3 tires @ $146ea, 4 wheels @ $119ea, and 2 tires + 1 wheel to cover the spare.) That's the limit per customer, no apparent rules against it...

$300 is probably worth the hassle of doing it now.

Edit: Saw this mentioned earlier in the thread, but does Discount Tire throw in the mounting / balancing for free if you buy from eBay too? Didn't see it that mentioned on their store page.

Its hit or miss. I never had a problem taking them in to a local Discount and having them mount and balance them. I've bee using two of the local ones for close to 10 years, so maybe that's why. Call one up and ask them.

I was running Pirelli Scorpion A/T's - 275x75's & loved em, Now I have 275x70 (Original) Dueler Revo's, they are very good but not as good s the Scorpions in the rain at highway speeds.

The RT/S are the worst tires I've ever owned. I would never buy Goodyear again.

^^^ This bears repeating! I just went in to our local DT, asked them about cost to mount/balance, told them what for, and they jumped to match the online price, even with me mixing-and-matching the wheels and tires to break it into three $400 purchases.

And they did: 5 Cooper Discovery AT/3 265/70/17's, 5 Level 8 Tracker 17's (in black), lugs, mount & balance, and tax for $1050.

Looking at the receipt, the guy added in a $480 "tire refund" to make that be the final price. Holy crap!

They even checked to see if Cooper had any upcoming rebates before the coupon ended, which they do not appear to, which made it easy to pull the trigger.

Thanks again to BFAD for posting the heads-up-again on this deal! :thanks:

just bought a set of 285 75 16 duratracs for the xterra...$744...not bad..was planning on buying them anyway without the discount. plus the $40 visa gift card
