B&M Transmission Cooler

Hey guys I am planning on getting a B&M transmission cooler but I am not sure which one to get. From people who have them, what is the best one to get? I was leaning towards the B&M 70264 but I want to hear what you guys have to say. Thanks in advanced.

The bigger the better it will dissipate heat. When you install it, make sure you don't put it inline with the stock one.

Buy the 70264. Mount it right up against the condenser in front of the fan for optimal cooling.

Being in Arizona I went with the 70264 over the 70268. It has a higher cooling capacity. I also will be towing in the coming months. Check out my garage if you want pictures of how to mount it flush with the condenser.

I mounted mine vertically in order to maximize the amount of surface area the fan could cool down, but honestly, you can mount it like 4Runner4TWs and be just fine.

I went with B&M 70268. Temperatures are not too extreme here in the NorthWest, and I rarely tow, so it fit the bill. Transmission cooler is installed sideways, with inlet on the bottom and outlet on the top.

I mounted mine vertically in order to maximize the amount of surface area the fan could cool down, but honestly, you can mount it like 4Runner4TWs and be just fine.

I wanted to go that way for a easier install, but then I remembered reading controversy about which should be return and which should be the send. I believe the send line goes to the bottom and return line to the top for best cooling? I couldn't remember so I went horizontal and it fit great. But I know B&M say both ways give you 100% cooling efficiency with it mounted in front on the condenser.

I went with 70268. I was surprised how small it was actually, but I'm in SoCal and don't tow so I guess it's alright. I should add a trans temp gauge to see how it's fairing up.

Long story short, B&M specifies orientation in their instructions, and you should follow that. Best orientations are both inlets up, next best is sideways, with inlet on bottom, outlet on top.

Good idea to add a Scangauge ll as well (check to see if your year has the trans temp) as a precaution, I almost overheated my tranny wheeling in the mountains w/ a 70268! (4wd Hi)
