Done deal. Found a 2018 4Runner Limited in Nautical Blue 4wd without the third row seat at my dealer last night. Put down a $500 deposit on it and I go in monday to finish the deal and pick her up.

Surprised at the room you have in the back without the third row seat.

2nd row seat was much better in no longer have the center console with the cup holders attached to the left seat. It is now completely independent of either seat and if you recline the seat the cup holders stay flat and don't recline along with the seat.

Working on cleaning out the sequoia to trade that in tomorrow.

Looking forward to the adventures in the new rig ... :lookout:

The 4Runner is one of the last 4x4s that hasn't been ruined by turning it into a family car and can be bought without a third row seat.

I remember the old Suburbans that had only two rows and how cavernous the cargo area was, now it's wasted with seats that maybe get used once a year--and are too big to remove.

Nice and congrats.

Got a 2017 Limited a month ago with no 3rd row seat. Love it. Got rid of my truck and now it doesn't seem I'm missing much space-wise.

Enjoy.
 
I am really loving it, kinda regretted getting rid of the 2016 model, but ...

Rear seat looks like a new design.

Seems quieter, rides really nice.

So far so good.

Hate to say it, but I really do miss driving the 4Runner.
 
Congrats on the new Limited. We had a 2007 Sequoia with 3rd row seat. Took it out the first day and stored it in the basement for 9 years 'til we traded for a X5. In 9 years we never missed it!

Congrats we just got a black with red int. 5 passenger. Better resale later apparently than the 7
 
Congrats, from a family that needed the 3rd row, but understands that the 4Runner with it is a bit more compromised (and locked out of certain models!)

I love the color of your new rig. Enjoy!
 
Congrats on the new 4Runner, I also have the Nautical Blue and am absolutely in love with the color!

The only 2017 I could find in NB had the third row, so I do hate the lack of cargo space, but it hasn't been an issue for me yet. I just cover the third row and don't use it.

We took the Sequoia up on spring break from Texas to Idaho (college visit for the kiddo) and ran into snow/slush/ice/sand slop all over. It has the radar cruise control and had to keep on cleaning off the sensor for the cruise to work.

Used the "normal" non-radar cruise control a couple of times and would set it and try to increase the speed and it would not work normally -- one click up of the lever to increase the speed by 1mph -- it would increase by 2 or 3 or 4 mph both up and DOWN.

Then driving home thru I-25 about 30 miles north of Denver at 70mph the entire system goes out. No radar cruise nor normal cruise. Message says CHECK CRUISE SYSTEM. Drive 200 miles with no cruise.

Stop and fuel up. Vehicle off. Turn vehicle back on and radar cruise is back and working.

Also got home and truck has 23,000 miles on it and front passenger tire and both rear tires the tread is worn off the interior of the tire. So it needs an alignment.

Driving on the highway again around Dallas, doing 75 with radar on -- had vehicle slow down in front of me to 55. I pull to left to get around him and radar cruise had slowed me down like it should, but when I moved over the truck would not speed up. No one at all in front of me.

Truck at dealer to figure this out. Dealer cannot replicate the issue. They pull three codes for the cruise -- one saying the radar sensor is dirty and another two saying that the cruise "froze up". And they ask if I was driving in snow.

So ... even the wife lost confidence in the truck.

Wifie said if you go back to a 4Runner then get what you want. And she said I had to get the blue one since I was born in September and it looks like Sapphire Blue.

And I hate to admit this, but my new 4Runner feels more luxurious than that Sequoia.
 
If it's like the parking sensors they get water in them and go haywire.
There was a Sequoia Sport at the dealer when I was looking for 4Runners, nice looking truck but the $66K made me like it less.
 
When we were driving back my wife googled the issue and found people that the dealer said the radar detector box had been hit by a rock and damaged and it wasn't covered under warranty. Both of us were like that just insane and we said maybe time to go back to the 4Runner.

We didn't want the third row seat as we never used it and wanted the space for hauling stuff.

After reading thru the manual, found out that this is the design if you do not have the third row seat.

Of course it isn't. Probably a $2K repair too.
I'd put all the fragile components out on the front of the vehicle too, then not warranty them.
