Bad Ball Joint?

I noticed today that in my driver side upper ball joint, there is a wire that has penetrated the boot. I'm gonna have my mechanic check the ball joints tomorrow. Has anyone else ever seen this or had this happen to them? I don't want to be driving down the road and have the tire collapse on me. lol.

If its 2 wires twisted together then it's probably just the "clamp" that secures the bottom of the boot and should just be wrapped around the base if you look closely.

If it really has punctured the boot then bad luck bro.
