I have a 94 4runner with an A340H tranny, I was driving down 95 yesterday everything going fine then all the sudden she starts down sifting all the way and lose power pull off stop and she shuts off and is overheated. let her cool off starts up and revs up fine but when in gear moves but has no power, kinda like its slipping. Im thinking bad converter or converter cluctch is starting to go. I know if ur converter is completely bad you truck wont move at all and that y im thinking converter clutch? any thoughts?

im kinda having the same problem except i haven't overheated. it feels like im just spinning tires when going from stop (~3500-4000 rpms)till i hit second then she runs fine i also noticed tranny fluid on the bell housing i was thinking torque converter too luckily i have one lying around in the garage.
