Badmeat’s 2015 Inferno TRD Pro

I recently traded my 2013 SR5-P for a 2015 TRD Pro. I lucked out as I know a guy that took this in on trade with 48k miles. It has never been off-road, and just got brand new stock size Terra Grappler G2’s installed.

Mod list at time of purchase:
-Camelback Metalgear full length rack
-40” LED bar and reverse LED pods (mounted to rack) (unknown brand)
-Rigid Dually LED fogs
-HID’s in low beams (unknown brand)
-Tinted Windows

Currently on order:
-Dobinsons 1” lift Pro springs
-RSG angled sliders
-Rago Fabrication modular storage panels
-Spare OEM TRD FJ suspension kit (since they’re on sale at the moment. Will allow for multiple strut/spring combos for extra nose weight in the future)


This thing drives so buttery smooth, compared to the 3”Toytec/5100 combo that the SR5 had on it. The tires are also quieter than the Falken Wildpeaks I had on the SR5. Ideally, I’ll keep the stock-like ride and if Dobinsons comes out with some taller front springs, I may go a touch higher.

Last night I got the Rigid fogs lined up, as they were pointing higher than the low beams (I hadn't been using them at night since I bought the truck, due to this). I'm thoroughly impressed at how much light these throw out. It easily doubles visibility at night, IMO. The last photo is with the LED bar on, which I've noticed has a few LED's out. I'm considering Extreme LEDs 40" as a somewhat cost effective solution. Can anyone recommend any other brands at similar price points?

I noticed recently that the rear LED pods on the roof rack were touching the spoiler when the hatch is open. So I decided I would order some Rigid Dually pods do alleviate this. Turns out the no-name pods used the same type of connector, so the swap out was really quick.

I’m looking forward to getting the RSG sliders on this week, as well as my Rago storage panels (both should arrive Wednesday).

This evenings project will consist of rubbing the sliders down with paint thinner and seeing how many cans of Rust-Oleum hammered black spray paint I’ll go through. It took about two hours with a couple angle grinders, an electric drill, assortment of wire wheels, and two people to prep to this point.

I'm surprised they haven't used this color for more 4runners. It looks great on them, much better, I think, than on pickups or muscle cars.

Same sliders here: I used 4 on mine, then hit them with a can of clear each.

The painting and install was super smooth. In my haste of installing them, I forgot to rivet the logo plate on them, so I’ll remove them at some point to get that done.

The Rago storage panels are also in, and took maybe 20 minutes to install. I’ll post some pics when I get them loaded with gear tonight.

I think that’s part of Toyota’s strategy with the Pro models. They’re a one year only color, with limited production numbers.

I’m currently in the process of getting my Dobinsons C59-748 (1” lift) front and C59-599 (1-1.25” lift) rear springs installed. I chose this setup because I like the factory rake on the Pros as well as the ride (they’re the same spring rates as stock). Due to the tech at work running out of time today, I get to drive one of our sweet 2017 Rogue Sports home tonight :sleepy:

I got out on the Miami Whitewater river yesterday for a short 5-6 mile paddle. I wasn’t sure which route I was going to go for crossbars and decided on Yakima Timberline towers with 50” Corebars. The width was perfect and the install only took about 30 min in the parking lot of REI (we wanted to ensure there were no hiccups before leaving). The height of the crossbars is ideal and maybe 1/2” higher than the front light bar, which works out great for future lumber hauls from Home Depot.

I used the same Jaylow mount that I’ve had for a few years and it worked great, as always.

Everest, our 9 month old English Goldendoodle came along for her first float as well.
