Baja Designs SAE Sqaudron Fogs

Getting new fogs in my 2021 Trail. Debating between the standard Sports vs the SAE version.

I do camp/light off-road quite a bit but would use these mostly while highway driving as I live in the PacNW where it’s rainy/foggy. I just don’t want to be the guy getting flashed all the time while driving.

I’ll also have 4 Sqaudron Sports mounted on my Prinsu rack designated for nighttime off road/camping.

Does anyone have the SAE’s, if so how do you like them? Does it just make more sense to go with the non SAE fogs?

As long as you have them aimed correctly they should never blind oncoming traffic or illuminate the entire cabin of the car in front of you. Go for the brightest that you can afford.

The BDs are not even vaguely competitive with the DD fogs. They took a non-street-legal fog and put a crude rectangular frame in front of it to make it SAE compliant. Which results in wasting a lot of the light as well as a diffuse beam pattern.

The DD on the other hand are optically designed to be SAE compliant, so the cutoff is way better and the light is a lot brighter. Better beam pattern and brighter light. Depending on the model you choose, I think they can be cheaper too.

They sell a 4Runner-specific kit too.

If you do some searches you will find people here swear by DD if you plan to use them on the street.

definitely get the diode dynamics ss3. i have baja for somethings, but not for sae.

i run a total of 7 pairs of ss3 pro between my 2 trucks.
