Call me an idiot but whats the point of these lights?

Do they cover more area a front mount cannot cover?

The original use of them was for true "ditch lighting", where you would have a light pointing off to the side at a 45deg angle to help light up the front corners.

I work out of the back so more lights in the front don't really help me. I saw another 4Runner with lights under the rear spoiler but it looked ugly to me and would do me no good if I leave the hatch open.

Usually just pop a tent and hang a lamp there. Fits over the back for now since my lift isn't here yet. But might need plan B once its installed.
