Ike, that may be something TacomaPros threw in. The BajaRack website FAQ says:
"6.- Does BajaRack do installation?
No, we don’t. However, customers can do the installation in our parking lot. We can lend our tools and lend a hand to lift the rack onto the roof. We can also offer water and a place to wash up!"

Ike is correct. Per bajarack, the group buy participants are an exception to this.

Not only that, but Tacomapros is the vendor and Bajarack's contracts with vendors state that only individuals that purchase the rack DIRECTLY from bajarack qualify for loaner tools, help, and wash up on their property per the link provided.

No vendor sales qualify for this, only people that purchase directly thru Bajarack.

Tacomapros will contact Bajarack on Monday to confirm this one more time.

I wouldn't find it something to be pissed about, still getting a great deal. I doubt they would say no about helping you but it's prolly to save them from having 100 people show and try to install at once. (exaggerating)

LOL, I wasn't betting on them helping. Like I said, I was going to phone a friend anyway. Heck, I wouldn't even mind if I had to drag the thing to the public street and throw it on myself, but BajaRack's website seemed to say that they were all about helping you out.

That was my thought, remove the bars that are on now at home and install the new rack when I pick it up either near the facility or in the street. I don't need the tools as I have my own I was only going off of bajaracks website. Rack install day at bajarack lol.

Not a problem bud.

I see where you're coming from tho. When I bought my 3rd gen rack it would barely fit in my Taco. Not all of us have trucks and finding ways to get it home can be difficult.

Install at Baja rack parking lot/ not allowed

Guys, thanks for your suggestions.
Initially that was my first thought to save money was to pick up at will call and have a wrench-a-thon in the parking lot with T4R.org or with a friend.
I was told by Ramon and Ze that NO INSTALLATION IS ALLOWED IN THE BAJA RACK PARKING LOT.
So please remember this if that is what you are planning to do.
I was going to drive down to pick it up but since I no longer have a factory rack (sold it on ebay) and don't know if the rack will be semi packed enough to to secure to my roof.

Correction, now that things are changed I'm trying to switch to will call. I was told by Ze " they can probably ship to your house for close to what will call is". $150 compared to $50 is not even close . I guess I'm really a broke - di$& . I'm gathering foam and straps to possibly bring it home on top of my roof in the packaging they supply.
Hopefully Ze will be able to refund my shipping.

I was under the impression that San Diego was the only option for will call. I'm fine with installing together, but our racks may be ready at different times.

Shoot, if you bring a friend to pick it up, I'd imagine that you guys could probably install it in the parking lot.

I think on the website BajaRack says you're welcome to install it yourself in their parking lot, they might loan you a tool or two and you can wash up there when you get done.
