Bajarack group buy 2.0

Picked up the 4R from Vigg Designs today. Wrap turned out amazing. Then I installed the Bajarack. Let me just say this, READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU INSTALL!!!!! I kinda dented my roof from over tightening :doh:

Here's photos. No dented roof photos though. The dent happened at the mounting locations. Just didn't feel tight enough and I kept going like a moron.

Well, I didn't get one of the fancy "replace the entire factory gear" racks, I just went with a Mega-Mule.

Arrived at the UPS depot this morning; called after lunch, they wanted to schedule a delivery next week (?!); I told them I'd be there in 15 minutes...

Of course, had to unbox it to get it into the back; will be busy tonight, will have to wait until tomorrow to do an install...

Picked mine up on Friday and did a quick install in the parking lot.

So I did some modifying to the hardware on the rack. Here's the photos of what I did. I added a high pressure sealing washer with a standard washer and then another rubber washer then added blue loctite. This way I know no water will go down the bolt from the top. The sealing washer expands when smushed and closes tight around the bolt's threads. Added some black silicone around the mount where there was gaps. This will keep water from going down into the mounting channel. I think I'm happy with my sealing job now lol.

Got mine installed today, had to wait a few extra days because they accidentally mispackaged a standard flat rack but it was labeled as the one with the sunroof cutout. But tacomapros was very prompt in getting it sorted out and a replacement sent the very next day.

Good idea. I pretty much filled the cavity with RTV, but I may do this as well.

Finally got mine installed, although I still need to retorque the bolts to spec. I did not notice any gaps where the rack meets the top of the vehicle. I will check for that and if I see it I may fill with black silicone as well. The bolt set up with locktite seems like a good idea so I may follow up with that as well. Should I worry about any water that may have gotten in there already?

Wonder if I am ever going to my rack...I was one of the first to sign on, had a snafu with payment through paypal, money returned, and then repaid, and now, months later and still nothing...

Won't be doing a group buy again anytime soon...

There would be another one, but it would be late this year.
