Finally decided to make a build thread. been on here for a while and we've owned the truck for a longg time. Bought it for around 14k with 114k miles on it about 8 or 9 years ago. It was my dad's DD at the time. He took good care of it bringing it strictly to the dealership to do all the maintenance work. When I was a senior in high school he finally let me drive it and became mine for the past 4 or 5 years.
It wasn't until the past year or two that I discovered the "mod" bug. Since then its been a slow build, but Craigslist became my good friend. It started with just wanting to keep the 4runner as clean as possible inside and outside. I wanted to make it look like it came off the factory line. I found this forum board and was amazed at all the things I could do. Got excited and slowly took my 4runner further. and
Just want to thank the forum members for their knowledge and help. JohnsD90 for alot of information when I barely understood anything. Thanks to FoneRunner for the help with putting together my lift and pieces of my 4runner. and everyone who I've asked a million questions in their PM box.

around this point I started pondering about a lift and realized that I would be spending too much money on a lift..So i just wanted to get a bigger tire size..I went up to a set of used 265/75/16 goodyear silent armor's on my college budget
I've always wanted a decent roof rack . so after months on Craigslist I finally found one for sale in my area that was decent enough to buy...Rola rack and I skipped class this day to buy it!
The idea of new tires and rims came around after i was lurking on Craigslist for rims..I found these and got them for 200 bucks! i was extremely happy i got these. I spent a week prepping them and they sat in my garage for couple of months until i found the right tires to mount them on.

last pic shows my new bushings coming in..this is how the old one looked...
I lurk around on my local TTORA fourm classifieds alot also. I found 2 Nitto TG for 110 bucks! they had like 80% tread left! Skipped class to pick these up! drove 2 hours..in the pouring rain..i remember that day
These sat in my garage along with the rims until early winter/late fall..thats when i finally decided to buy 2 brand new nitto TG's and had them mounted..I was as happy as a little kid that day. Also at this point looks like I bought a CB with firestik and i also Plasti dipped my rear bumper.
Then the idea of a lift came along. Got new Shocks and struts. Found a set of 2.5'' spacers for the front off my TTORA fourm for 25 bucks!
<a href="http://s43.photobucket.com/albums/e358/tran61021/4runner/?action=view¤t=DSC_2072.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e358/tran61021/4runner/DSC_2072.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s43.photobucket.com/albums/e358/tran61021/4runner/?action=view¤t=DSC_2074.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e358/tran61021/4runner/DSC_2074.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The lift parts sat in my room for couple months before I decided to put them on. Met up with some t4r.org members and instantly wanted to install my lift. This is supertrooper with 2.5'' spacers all around
So it was time to lift. Thanks to Fonerunner we got the lift on. 2.5'' spacers up front...7 wrap LC coils in rear..new shocks and struts all around..FACTORY SUSPENSION AFTER 260K miles GONE! you could imagine how smooth the ride felt after that..
You can imagine after 10 years of stock suspension/ stock height..how much of a change it was to sit in something higher..just felt so weird but i loved it
That is one fine Runner my friend, and good call on replacing that humongous roof basket you had on at the start with the Rola one. Are you missing wheels nuts on each of the rear wheels?
Cheers to finally getting the Build Thread started!
thanks guys! dont really know whats next, but yes i could use some fog lights. Brush guard gunna come off and shackles on. but all this gunna hang low for a bit..been slacking lately and i gotta put more effort into my other priorities. maybe when spring break comes around ill do something new.
