BaseRunners 1989 22RE Build thread

So went ahead and bought myself this 1990 corolla for $550. This will be my daily driver and commuting car. That means I am no longer worried about the gas mileage of my Runner as it will be the weekend warrior. That being said I am going for a 2.5 inch lift. I've read online that with BJ spacers up front and Old man Emu leafs in the rear I could get 2.5 inches, any truth to that? What shocks should I order with this setup so I have the most down travel and not mess up my shocks in the rear??? Also I am going back to 15 inch rims in order to get 32x11.50R15 BFGs because the Duratracs I planned on don't come in that size. If anybody has any other ideas for a cheap lift like said above^ please do let me know. Thanks guys.

Anyone got recommendations on shocks?

OME Nitrochargers are designed to go with OME springs and they work very very well together. Get medium duty springs in the rear, bj spacers in front with just a touch of torsion bar crank to level it, with Nitrochargers on all four corners.

I appreciate it Kevin, thanks a lot! I'm gonna see where I can find those and order me some!

As always when snow comes around I'm the first one on the roads!

Well guys, some bittersweet news. I sold my Runner to my cousin, and bought myself 97 Land Cruiser fully loaded collectors edition with front, rear, and center diff locks. I appreciate all the help you fellers have given me over the years. I really enjoyed my time here, and the time I spent in my Runner. You guys rock steady! It was a pleasure!

So you're leaving us "little ppl" behind Aram!? How could u!!!? :jk:
That's a nice 80 series. Last year for the solid axle and the straight six. It's definitely a keeper. You don't have to leave us, there's still the 'All Other Vehicles' section. What this forum needs is a LC/Hi-Lux/Tacoma specific section.

Lol nah its not like that Paul. I still have a deep appreciation and affection for these runners. 1st gens are the coolest 4runners out there without a doubt. I just got tired of putting money into it all the time without an end. I thought to myself I could build it all I want, and at the end of the day I have a stock Land cruiser. So for a weekend warrior I said to myself, why not get the top of the line. I'm loving my cruiser so far, especially the 3 lockers it comes with lol. I'll still be lurking around here because these rigs are beautiful to look.

Holy crap it's been a long time yall Haha. Hope all of you kind awesome 4runner loving folks are doing good. I put t4r.org in the browser and lo and behold I'm still logged in Haha. So I thought I'd stop by and show off the Land Cruiser
