Basic Lift

I know there is a sticky on this and I did read through several good ideas over several pages but I wanted to give my specifics for a quick, customized option.

Stock 2007 Limited V8 4WD 4Runner, 117k.

All I'd like to do is give it a budget block lift that'll allow for a 265/65-18 all terrain tire on the stock 18" wheels. Maybe a Dick Cepek Trail Country tire. I have no interest in new UCA's, end link and differential relocate mods. Just a basic lift.

This will never do any trail riding. I'm in Florida but I love the look of the 4Runner with a more aggressive look. And don't laugh too hard but we get heavy rain and I'd like to ride over it rather than through it.

I've been in an Expedition since 2001 so I already miss the size. I love the truck just need some minor adjustments.

Lift

I went with the 2.5" front and 1.5" rear "daystar", along with the "spidertrax" 1.25" wheel spacers. Love the look and ride. Make sure you get the wheel alignment reset afterwards.

Sounds good. Never thought about the spacers.

I did some reading and I think someone said that with the spacers there may be some tire rub. If I do the Daystar 2.5 front/1.5 rear what tire would fit on the stock 18" wheel? Could I do the 265/65-18 without issue? Or could I even get a little wider with the same 65 height? Just weighing some options.

I have DS 2.5/1.5 w/ Spiders and had a small rub at full wheel lock, also had to trim the bumper, currently on 265/60R18,

with a brand new all terrain you may rub even with 265/65r18, and some people go with a 275/65r18 and with that you more than likely will rub. most people that lift their 4runners either add wheels with negative offset or wheel spacers, widening the stance. widening the stance will make any rubbing issues worse

Sounds good. I'll start with the spacers and 2.5/1.5 with the stock 265/60-18 stock tires and see how the clearance looks.

Hard to believe that a 2.5 lift in front and wheel adapter would create a tire rub issue. AT or not, the 265/60-18 tire is the same height and width.

Time to start experimenting and thanks for the responses!

I currently have the 2.5/1.5 also, but I started with the Daystar budget boost. It's a 1" thick spacer that will net just under 2" of lift in the front only. Tire fitment should be almost identical to the 2.5/1.5. Just throwing another option out there for ya. Enjoy your T4R!
