Battery drain without fuses installed

Hello all -

I am having a problem with my 04 with a V8. The battery is being drained and I cannot find the issue. I have done the voltmeter between the positive cable and battery to find the circuits and pulled those fuses. The battery goes dead in about 4 days and quicker now that it is under 0*. This is the third battery it has happened to over the last year, so I am fairly confident that it isn't a bad battery. My thoughts are maybe the Alternator diodes or the Starter somehow. The Scangauge shows I is charging at 14.2-14.4. I am wondering if it isn't pumping out the amperage it is supposed to. Thoughts? YES. I have done MUCH searching here.

Thank you in advance!

try the alternator this time. it could be your alternator is doing an intermittent charging. keep us posted.

What do you mean by try the alternator? Just replace it?

you could try unhooking the cable first. pull it off the back of the alt, and tape it so it cant touch anything. see if it still goes dead.

that said, you should be able to take it in and have it tested, ON the vehicle. they can tell you if it has a bad diode, regulator or whatever. would be quicker and better than just waiting to see if the battery dies again.
