Hey I'm new to the forum and new to 4runners.
i bought a 92 4runner SR5 v6 5spd 2 days ago for a winter beater and i broke it already
I was getting it muddy (covering up the paint and bondo haha) and the battery and parking brake lights came on and didnt go off.
the voltage gauge stayed normal though. so i didnt think anything of it since its old and has 293,000km on it i figured lights are bound to come on haha.
then last night it died on me. so i went back this morning and boosted it and the lights were off. drove it to a car wash sprayed the engine bay since it was covered in mud. the lights came back on.
the alernator pulley is turning so i dont think its seized.
but there must be a cable loose some where or a short because it doesnt like getting wet.
I couldnt find anything so i took it to the dealer and left it there. I'm on my way to work now.
its hard to say where the short would be there alot of wires that are cut. alot that are aftermarket and lead to nothing. and its had 5 owners so there probably been alot of bad treatment and probably an accident or 2.
hopefully the dealer figures it out and its just a short somewhere haha.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?
thanks
