Battery Light On

Hi everyone,

I have a 2004 Limited V8 AWD. My battery light just came on and I’ve checked my battery and alternator. Battery is 12.6-12.8 off and 14.2 on. The alternator was good as well when I checked it with the multimeter. My Daytime running lights are not working, my auto window up and down is not working, and my locks do not auto lock anymore when putting it in drive. Also my sunroof takes a second before it will open or close when I hit the buttons. It seems like the electrical system has gone into a power saving mode or something. Does anyone have any idea of what it could be? Thanks in advance!

I just dealt with a battery issue (but no battery light) and one of the posters pointed out the upper end of the acceptable range from Toyota is 14.2 at the battery with the vehicle running - where you're at. So possibly an overcharging issue?

As for the other things, they need to be reinitialized after disconnecting the battery for any length of time. And it seems some of the vehicle settings have been lost (DRL, auto lock), so you likely have something funky going on with the charging system.
