Bent rear axle; USDM T4R in Australia

Okay, long story short, I backed hard into a ditch and bent the right ride of the rear axle forward to the point where the wheel is turned inward.

Question: Does a Hilux Surf or normal Hilux rear axle fit a 3rd gen 4Runner SR5 V6 4WD?

Edit: Or a Land Cruiser Prado?

How hard is hard? Holly smokes, Axles are one of those things that are usually pretty hard to bend. You must have bashed her pretty good. Not 100% sure but I am assuming a 3rd gen Hilux has the same axle. Just make sure the diff's are the same gear ratio.

Ouch! I believe Surfs or LC Prado 90 series axles will do. but as said above, check gear ratios. I also have a bent axle, but nothing near as bad as that, and I still drive it around until I can find some time and patience to replace it.

The Surf Axle will fit. The Normal hilux won't as it is leaf sprung. I don't know about the Prado but it sounds like it might.

I have seen a bent axle (housing) and it happens.

As for gear ratios, Just swap your Diff assembly out and you should be good to go.

You might want to check out your transfer case and transmission. They probably took a real nasty hit when you bent that (it looks like they your drive shaft was the bend point). You could have done damage to them as well.

As stated, a Hilux Surf one should work, but you'll need to swap your rear diff to maintain your gearing. A LC 90 Prado has rear disk brakes, so it could likely work but will be more complicated.
