I've heard good thing about Browns Camp and Sand Beach down here in Oregon. I had heard a few things about Detroit Lake near Silverton but wasn't all that impressed...

I live just south of Portland and have been out to Brown's camp 2 times so far. I didn't do anything too risky because I was there without a second rig to pull me out if i got stuck, but I would love to go there with a few other 4runners some other time and play. Not as much 4x4 trails as there are motorcycle or atv, but I think it still makes for a cool day. I would also be interested in going to the dunes sometime later this year.
