Best method to paint a bumper? (you might be doing it wrong)

Does the paint job hold up on the chrome bumper well? i really want to get rid of the chrome bumper and go with the black to match the wheels

It has only been 3 months + I live in San Diego which pretty much stays between 40F and 85F, 365 days a year. I am sure this will help with longevity.

I was told that unless you remove by chemicals or sandblast then there is no guarantee. BUT I TOOK ALMOST EVERY STEP TO MAKE IT LAST.

* Used strong grit sand paper
* Wiped it down with a solvent before the first primer
* Used a auto paint pre-primer ($19 - dammn $)
* Used 2nd level type primer ($13)
* Did 2 full coats with 3M light sanding in between
* Finally, I used auto paint which i am pretty certain gives it a longevity edge over Rustolium which is not designed for auto usage and is lower quality paint.

yeah well temp today is 100 degrees in Goldsboro, NC so not as lucky as you, but yeah thats what i was thinking but i might just also look for some used painted ones

Was looking for experience with SEM Multimax (used to be called Promax) and then finally found this. How did the paint hold up?
