Best scan tool(available in canada)

So i've decided I should probably get a scan tool, im old school mechanic type guy who is at home with carbs not electrical fuel injection, but figure I should make an attempt to do my own repairs on the 4runner before taking it to a shop so a scan tool is a good place to start.

Im in Canada so any link to Canadian website with your recommendations would be great, Can dollar to low right now to bother with bringing anything up from the US.

I bought the knock off Techstream and so far it has been pretty fun. The only issue I encountered was I had to do the single point calibration on the wife's 4th Gen 4Runner after I adjusted the lock, lights settings and added a remote and another chipped key.

I have played with the new Bosch 1200 and 1300 series scanners and I really liked them, just not the $230+ price tag. I have $125 in my knockoff Techstream and a XP laptop.
