Best setup for towing?

in my last dodge i had firestone bags over leaf springs, still felt stock unloaded but made a big difference if i pulled anything, just need an air sorce, i just used a schradder valve and filled it at a local gas station i know they make them for 4runners, i would looking better brakes first tho

I agree. We recently took a trip with 5 people plus the dog, luggage on the roof carried via Load Warrior Basket and the rear of the Runner barely sat down. It actually sat level. Normally I have about a 1 inch rake.

I tow a Sportboat in the summer and I've had this discusion this spring... The concensus was OME 906, with stock up front, without an all around lift. Members have said this will bring up the rear 1-2 inches which isn't a bad thing, as the stock springs always sag ( see recall thread) Other members have said it does stiffen the ride. I'm not too bothered by that myself. The thing is, I have noticed brake fade when towing my boat and I see it as essential to do the Tundra brake upgrade before towing again this Spring!

I went with OME906 in the rear and OME880 up front, didn't need a lift but the 906 by themselves were just too much rake for me. I used 99' front coils and 906 rear for just over a year, since the 99' rear coils were also too soft for 5 adults.
The ride is stiff empty but with camping gear or our popup trailer it rides like a caddy. Next time I'll look more into air bags, since 90% it's empty and it's the wife's DD.

You have a choice between a good coil that will handle the load or a cheap replacement coil that won't be much better than the worn out stock coils.

Yeah that's kind of what I figured. I guess i'll get the 906's.
