best tire for combination of grip/tread life?

the title pretty much says it all. my kellys still have some life left in them but when they die i'm going to lift and put some 285s on. just wondering what you guys consider to be the best off road tire that still has a good tread life.

I have Kellys too, I bought them right before my lift! Sucks. I think those Dura Trac's are pretty sweet looking on the t4r's

i have the Grabber At2's and they have been awesome! I've taken them everywhere. snow, rain/mud and out in the dirt. I am very impressed with the capability of them. I've had them for a year now and they still look brand new! and perform great.
I like the dura tracs too they do look sick!

You can get 50k miles out of BFG All Terrains I've heard, I'm very satisfied with mine so far.

BFGs dry grip is so-so and they hydroplane sooner than my Nittos ever did and so far my Duratracs are outperforming my Nittos in the wet/snow and over the last couple of days in the snow and slush we've seen the GYs are quite impressive and even in 2wd. The jury is still out on theri wear but I'm expecting at least 45k out of them.

I got Toyo MT for two years now. I've been driving everyday with this tires and off road. I will stick to this tires.

I had my old set of BFG All Terrains for almost 90k with still some tread left, could have gone another 10k I bet. I just got a set of new ones this past weekend. If you rotate your tires every 5000 miles they will last a long time.

how do they handle off the pavement? i have heard they leave a little to be desired.

90k out of a set of BFGs is impressive but I'm betting by 50k their grip was suffering since after a 3-4 years BFGs are known to have the tread compound harden up thus they wear slow.

I got about 46k from my Nittos and there was still a bit of useable tread left but their grip was starting to go.

that sounds pretty decent. i found them online for like 165 a piece. did you have the D rated or the E rated?

D load range which was plenty harsh on my 3rd gen but on a heavier 4th gen the Ds might be a little more compliant.

I'd say better than the Nittos.

The KO's and Duratracs would be a good test. I'd give the nod to the Duratracs.

I like the BFG's off-road, IMO they are just as good as any other all terrain tire offorad.
