Best way to sell on the internet?

I see all of the 'I got screwed selling/buying' stories. So what is the best way to have a sale transaction over the internet? Is Paypal 100% safe? COD? FexEd, UPS, USPS???

I have a Valentine V1, and some parts from my old car to sell (brake pads, rotors, car cover, shop manual, etc.)

The V1 fetches a nice price on e-bay.

The other stuff I'll probably sell on the acura forum, hope for a local buyer.


I've only bought two things with my e-bay account a few years ago.

eBay then PayPal. both are great, never had any issues

well if you're the seller the risk of you getting screwed isn't as big. The buyer is separated of his cash before he gets anything in return. The seller gets the money and is trusted to make good and send the part as described in the ad.

I've sold on ebay before and never had a problem. Paypal is ok, but they do take fees from the transfer of money so keep that in mind.

I've been on both ends of ebay and paypal and have had no problems/regrets.

Ebay is going to get your largest audience exposure, so you should be able to get a higher price if it's a desirable item. Just keep in mind that you have to pay for the ad on ebay, pay the % of selling fee to ebay, and if you're selling... pay commission to paypal if you use it. You've got to make enough on the front end to warrant all of the commissions you're paying for using ebay on the back end.

It is a Version 1.7 + remote display. Everything (box, manual, etc) except the hardwire kit (a phone cord and wire tap, $19 from V1). I did not have time to get it out of my car. I have to get some pictures together, just got my camera.
