Bilstein backorder problems

I ordered a set of Bilstein 4600 shocks from a online vendor on September 1, 2014 and still do not have them yet. Called the online vendor today only to be told the shocks will not be shipped from the manufacturer until late December. Grrrrrr!

Is anyone else having same issue with Bilsteins being severely backordered?

I am thinking of going to a diffrent brand shock but not sure what to do. I have a 2004 4Runner Sport with 193000 miles and just want to replace the factory xreas. Not planning to lift the truck.

I have ordered several sets of Bilsteins for several vehicles over the years. 6 weeks seems to be about the average for me. I guess the lesson is to make phone calls and find someone who actually has them in stock...even if the price is a little higher.

Seems like they've been on constant backorder since early this year (or before). I couldn't get anything from them for weeks back in feb. Gave up and went another route. Every month or two someone comes in with the same story :/

Must be good news for them though Sales so good they can't keep up with demand! And the TRDPros are probably not helping the supply availability... (I'm sure Toyota is "first served")

Looks like Amazon has them in stock and even with free shipping if you have prime. Ordered 5100s a few months ago and got them within 2 days.

Maybe Bilstein is too busy filling them TRD Pro Orders

I've ordered them for other vehicles like a Ford Mustang x 2, Ford Crown Victoria, Ford Focus x 2, and my 4Runner x 2. Every time, 6-8 weeks, and this is from the major, on-line, shock warehouses, and has been going on for at least the past 15 years. So, it likely has NOTHING to do with Toyota, but more like an issue with Bilstein being able to keep with the demand of their distributers/dealers.

Like I said, finding a great on-line price is one thing, finding a someone who actually has them in stock is another.
