Hi all. If you live in Michigan or near by, there is a weekend event this weekend at the Hartwick Pines State park in Grayling MI. It's called the black iron days and it is absolutely so cool if you like period blacksmithing, and early American crafts. There are roughly a dozen professional blacksmiths there demonstrating their craft, and selling there wares. I love going there and smelling the smoke from coal forges, and listening to the ring of hammers on an anvil. I believe one of the smiths there was a runner up on the show Forged In Fire. I'm not involved at all, but sure love seeing them work.
