BlackCat's one simple, easy paint trick....

So, I'll give you guys one simple, easy trick that will aide in making your paint shine. Now, don't expect some uber crazy life changing method, but its very cheap and easy and can be done in a few minutes, after a nice coat of wax, or a simple wash.

Keep in mind, I've done some pretty extensive paint correction to my truck, but it is 16 years old, all original paint, and has been a Midwest truck it's whole life, so that includes 16 winters and road salt.

It's Pledge. Yes, the aerosol furniture polish. Goes on easy, comes off easy, and leaves a fantastic shine. (And lemony fresh smell!)

ive actually heard of this before, but it was an article on hotels and cheaping out on cleaning by using pledge on EVERYTHING. haha it helped saved money for certain hotels and the secret was that it left everything looking shiny and new.
now i can add that it seems to work on paint haha

lol, ya. It doesn't last long, it'll be gone with the first rain, but man does it make paint shine. It works even better for darker colored cars too. Here's 2 more from this morning.

I've never heard of this but your pictures look great! What do you think about the Hot Summers in the south? would the the pledge cook and ruin the paint? I have a buddy with a black '99 highlander who didn't wash his truck for about a month and bird sh!t cooked into his paint on the hood.

I'm definitely interested to try it though maybe ill do a small section first.

I wouldn't worry about it at all. I mean, it's supposed to be nearly 100 degrees here today, so we have some pretty high temps too. Temp really has nothing to do with the bird poo, it's the fact that it's very acidic, and will eat through clear coat relatively quickly if not removed.

sounds good. I'm going to try that this weekend. I've used quick detailer before but it always smears and doesn't buff out very well this will be much easier. :thumb3::thumb3::thumb3:
