Blacked Out 07 4runner 4X4

Im a new member and i just wanted to post some picks of my blacked out 4runner. I blacked out all the chrome and the head and tail lights. Please tell me what you think!!! Be Honest!

My plan is to eventually black mine out too, but with a slightly different look.

I'm ordering a color keyed grill soon to replace my chrome one, then the next step will be to get some nice black rims, and debadge the whole truck. My windows are already 10% in the back and 20% in the front, so with a 35% on the front windshield, they will be all blacked out too.

It looks cool, but I prefer gloss black or black chrome for the wheels.

What did you use to black out everything? Is it paint, teflon, powdercoat??? How much? Looks really good.

Powdercoating them usually runs around $30-$40 per rim. I don't think that's what he did though. His isn't a shiny powdercoated look, it's like a flat black. Looks like a tank.

Well I've got white, but I'm dying to pull out my headlights and at least black those out. Have much difficulty pulling them out?

I got it done by a shop. But apparently its really hard to take them out without breaking them. Also you have to seal them from water or something like that when your done...

Its hard for me to tell if the grill is flat black or shiny black though. I think it should be shiny . The rims look cool but also think it should be powder coated shiny black. Maybe they are and I can't tell.

Either way the stealth look is awesome. Nice job.

I like it except for the wheels. I think a blacked out 4Rnner deserves better wheels. (and shiny ones) IMHO, the dull wheels reminds me of steel rims.

Man, I can't wait to get my 4th gen. five years in may! By then it will have 150k. Oh, yeah, its my mom's, in which she promised it to me when I graduate college. I will have no problem with that because it is always garage kept, and babied, and maintained by me since we got it. Only problem we have ever had with it is the Rear diff seal was bad. Replaced for free, oh and a freak thing where the brake fluid isn't at a certain level ABS, TRAC OFF, VSC lights go on. Once I get it, off come the running boards, on goes a 2/3 or so lift, complete exhaust, K&N intake, rims, tires, tint, audio, black out taillights and headlights and new mats. lol.

Sorry OT, back to subject, damn ADD.

OP, what have you got in mind for wheels?

In the top 3 from this site. The other 2 are Lance's Total Cahos and the one from Canada with 7inches of lift, bumpers the works.

You did a great job. I saw Shaq in a blacked out SUV in South Beach last year and yours looks as better.

It doesn't keep your posts permanently subscribed on your Control Panel. So that's normal. For posting the pics just upload them to PhotoBucket. It'll have 4 links under the picture, the one you want to copy and paste into your post is the one that starts with which is the very bottom link.

If you want to add multiple links, just hit enter once or twice to skip a few lines, then copy and paste another link.

i like it but i think it's missing something that i can't place my finger on. maybe it's the wheels? idk.

also, the only thing i would have left alone is the V8 emblem.
