Daughter wanted to paint her wheels. Turned out pretty good. Any thoughts?

As long as she/you likes it, that's all that matters.

Seeing your black with the window visors tho, makes me want to look into some now too. What kind do you have on, if you dont mind me asking?

Plasti-dip? If you haven't already, you might want to do a few coats of "flat" clear coat for durability...

And for God's sake, tackle the roof rack next.

Black out emblems but chrome running boards

Hi all, wanted to get some opinion or possible advice based on experience. I have a black 17 SR5 with the Toyota chrome running boards. I’m thinking of blacking our badges and roof rack but don’t know how it would look with chrome running boards...and don’t want to pull them off and replace. Any input is appreciated.

I attached a pic

In my opinion pulling the running boards off so it doesn't look like a old man grocery getter along with blacken the stock rims will make your 5th gen stand out more than anything. Ours is white and going with blacken rims along other parts blacken constantly gets comments from other drivers. My neighbor blacken his 5th gen and pulled his running boards and it is a beautiful vehicle.

Thanks the Beastlives. Any suggestions on how to blacken my stock rims?

I had mine power coated by a professional body shop that does custom rims. They will cover with a warranty any issues with powercoat failing in the future.

Cool, thanks. Now I just need to weigh out the cost of powder coating and durability vs. just buying new rims. I’ve read powder coating is between $50-$100 per wheel while I could get some black rims or even TRD Toyota rims for around $800 total.
