Has anyone used Blackstone Labs for their oil analysis? I sent a sample in over a week ago using Priority Mail, but they don't have it yet? I hope they find it. How long does it usually take to get results and are you guys happy with their service? Are there any other labs out there?

You can go to your local Caterpillar Dealear or large truck shop and they should be able to do the oil analysis for you.
 
I use Blackstone all the time. Did you mail your sample in a box? Or just in the black plastic container?

Always, always, always use a box. If you just use the plastic thing, it takes forever....because some dumb post office somewhere will hold it for a while thinking it hazardous. When I mailed my first one (without a box) it took 3 weeks to get my results.

Now I use a small box, and send it fedex. I usually gets results in about 5-7 days that way. If it's your first sample, it might take them a bit longer, because they have to set you up in the system.



And I'm VERY happy with Blackstone. They are great people who do a great job. I just looked at my account online, and I've run 14 samples with them already from 5 different vehicles.

That's where I screwed up. I sent the bottle only. I wanted to put it in a Priority Mail box and the USPS clerk said why not just send it in the bottle? LOL. I called her today and asked if it could have fallen in the trash and she laughed at me and said it should have been there three days ago. Tracking? No, I didn't do that either. A lesson learned I guess.
 
Results came in today. Not too bad really considering I sent the little black bottle instead of putting it in a box. 8 days turn around time. My engine has 168K on it and the metals were up pretty much. I bought this truck about a month ago and it was overfull by two quarts at the time. I changed the oil immediately and these were the test results from 1500 miles on the oil I put in it. I am hoping for the numbers to improve next time I get it analyzed.
 
I just recieved my ATF analysis back today. Unfortunealty, my sample included some of the last drops from the pan as I splilled half of the oringinal sample. My trans is also 2 years post milkshake. As you can see the Iron is off the charts. Thius may be becasue the sample included the last drops that drianed from the pan. I was happy to see no water was detected. I send this first class in a brown padded envelope on Monday and recieved the results Thursday.

Interesting. I was going to sample my ATF next time I pulled the drain plug. It might be awhile, but I'll post it up in here to compare to the one you posted.
