Blizzard Warning

Blizzard warning in my world for tomorrow through Wednesday. I guess I will be able to tell everyone how the new Cooper AT3 tires do in the snow lol. Anyway, everyone in Sandy's path stay safe. You guys will get the liquid and we will get it frozen.

*UPDATE 10:00pm 10-28-2012

NOAA is now saying 2 feet of heavy wet snow for our elevation.

In advance of the storm, I brought some plants in from the patio, not knowing they harbored some fairly lethargic wasps. Lethargic until they warmed up inside. I spent the last hour chasing wasps.

Blizzards are bad, no minimizing that, but at least you don't have pissed-off wasps.

Stay safe my friend. I got a bunch of emergency stuff together this morning. Guess I'm as ready as I can be!

I found some Lethargic wasps in one of my compost bins (saw dust) so I just thought I'd leave the lid off for tonight although they probably won't have the energy to leave; its almost freezing in east Texas. Stay safe everyone in Sandy's path, and good luck. :keyboard:

I literally laughed outloud reading this. I don't want to laugh at your misfortune, but damn your wording made it that much funnier. Thank you sir. I needed a chuckle.

Thanks man. Got my stuff together including building shed for the generator. My wife said we could also use it for hurricane or nuclear shelters too. I tend to "overbuild" every now and then.

Thanks! I have food, fuel, beer and a snowblower with fresh wear plates. I'm ready.
 
From New Jersey here, bracing for direct impact from Sandy. Should be a fun one, had Irene a year ago and this one is supposed to be worse. Good luck to everyone who will be affected. Personally, my neighborhood is on a hill, but a mile away was under water from Irene. Stay safe.
 
Hey like I told ya'll, if need be, start haulin your asses over here. Andrew and Danny especially know I don't have any problems having a 4Runner party on my front lawn. I'll even msg my address heh. :beer:
 
From Suburban Philadelphia here. We had Hurrican Irene last year so we feel like we are ready. Anticipating loosing electricy, got usually stuff just in case and have boiled water in a thermos to feed my 13 month old with Emfamil (if the power goes out, the milk and other food inside the fridge should last several hours) should the need arise. I even applied Rain-X to all of my windows of my truck, again, just in case I have to head out. Tank is also topped off. I grew up in the Poconos so "getting ready for a storm" is second nature to me. I think a blizzard is far more dangerous to drive in than a CAT1 storm. (been there, done that).

Yea I live at about 3,000 feet elevation and we are going to get hammered here in southern appalachia. Secondary heat (250 gal propane tank) secondary cooking source (propane grille) secondary electrical source (gas generator) and we are good. Oh, just finished sharpening chainsaw chain for branches and trees that will fall.
 
Hunkered down here on the CT shoreline. Just under a mile inland so don't have to worry about the storm surge but my concern lies in the high winds and trees around my house. Irene left us without power for 8 days. 4Runner is in the garage, generator is ready to go, fiance is safe inland, plenty of food and beer, and my weimaraner is asleep at my feet. I'm good to go.

Im kinda buggin out cause I am in AZ visiting my family but my home, business, and truck are back east in NY and I was not expecting this storm. I didn't do anything to prep my house move park truck in safe place (my parking lot is surrounded by trees that could fall if storm gets bad enough). I just HOPE that all my belongings make it through...

Good luck to you guys... being from FL I feel your anxiety, although this year has been relatively calm for us and I can't imagine it with snow instead of rain. Good luck, be safe, and take pics!
