Blubill's Build Thread

I bought my 4Runner a year or so ago after my previous car bit the dust. I have been in love with it ever since! Up until I found this forum it never really crossed my mind all the awesome stuff I could do to it.

There isn't a whole lot so far, but I'm definitely going to do some sweet stuff to it in the future.

Here is the pic I took before making any changes to it.

The first thing I wanted to do was paint the wheels! so here are pictures of that project, I'm very happy with the results.

The next thing I did was touch up the paint on my rear spoiler, tow package and remove the running boards.

Here is as it stands today.

That's it for now. The next purchase will probably be either a push bar/brush guard and a bug shield. Major props to this community it makes it easy for beginners like me to make my 4Runner into what I REALLY want it to be.

Very nice!!!! Was the color of your wheels black?? I can't quite tell....very nice job. Also did you remove your wheel weights?? and paint, then put them back??

Thank You! Yes, I used the Satin Black Krylon brand for the wheels as another user recommended here. And yea, we took the weights off, painted the wheels/weights and popped them back on after they dried. Marked the tire with a red sharpie so we knew where the weights went on each tire.

I am super excited!!!!!!!:jump:

So long story short shortly after the last post in this thread I sold my 4Runner to my little sister because she was in desperate need of a reliable vehicle. She is in a better place now and is going to be purchasing a different vehicle with better gas mileage when she gets her tax return this year.

Soooooooo, I'm buying it back!!!! :guitar2:

I CAN'T wait, i really wish I hadn't given it up to begin with.

It's had a rough life since she took it, she's backed into a mailbox on the passenger side (damaging the rear quarter panel) and she backed into a pole on the drivers side (pushing the bumper into the wheel well area). So I have some stuff to fix on it (including timing belt and water pump)......BUT it's going to be mine again!

This next month or so is going to take forever.

Took advantage of the weather today and was able to repair my drivers side bumper. Big improvement.....wish I had thought to take a before picture, the mud flap was maybe an inch away from the tire because of an accident.

Also did a sticker mod to show off my new roof rack and gain some extra HP. :)
