Bluetooth pairing issue

My Bluetooth works great 98% of the time. Occasionally, my iPhone won’t pair. I end up having to hold down the on/off knob to reset the head unit. Once it restarts, it pairs right up.

Anyone else have this issue? Possibly a software update from the dealer?

It’s a brand new 2018 TRD off road premium with only 1300 miles.

I find my Bluetooth played mp3's, also in a 2018 TRD Premium, shows the file info and album cover on the screen for 3 to 5 songs and then it stops changing/update with each new song.

An update for the premium entune unit may well be in order...

Is there something different with the iPhone? Our 2017 Offroad Premium 4runner auto pairs every time with the wife's Samsung S7.

I had the same issue with my 2016 when it was new. The dealer did a software update and reset, and no issues since then. Good luck and congrats on the new truck!

Unfortunately the Entune system and app is complete garbage. I miss the system from my 2016 Camaro that I traded in. Carplay and Android Auto is FAR better. Even the non-Carplay and Android part of it was worlds better than this junk we are stuck with.

I completely agree with the application being complete garbage. Its such crap code that it does not interact with the androids OS on the 4runner. We also have a 2017 Sienna and running the app on the Samsung Note8 with that head unit is a lot better and all the features are working correctly with the Sienna head unit.

My iPhone pairs, but I no longer get text messages on the unit. I re-paired it a couple times and still nothing.

Thanks. I’ll see if they will do an update when I go in for the 5000 mile service.

I have a 2018 factory display/touch screen with some issues

When I have my phone connected to bluetooth and am listening to the radio my phone doesn't ring for phone calls, text messages, emails, etc. Unless I am listening to music from the phone over bluetooth. I have the settings for text tone and email in the factory unit on...cant figure this out.

Yeah, brand new 2018 TRD ORP here with <1000 miles, and my bluetooth is acting finicky too. Half the time, the bluetooth name of my 4Runner doesn't show up correctly on my iphone 7. Sometimes the bluetooth connection will randomly drop out as well, and then I have to reconnect it. Occasionally, a phone call won't come through on bluetooth audio, and then I have to switch it over on my phone. There are a few more glitches, but those are the main ones I've noticed.

Either way, if anyone hears anything new, please let us know!
