? Body mount Sleekster Sliders ?

My runner is not lifted and I do not do hard core off-roading, just rough dirt tracks and wash crossings.
These "Sleekster Sliders" might be all I really need for a bit of protection.
Has anyone had any experience with them? "FourWheeler" and 4Wheel & Off-Road" magazines seem to like them.

Apparently the sliders are made from 1/8 inch plate and attach directly to the body under the door opening with rivets. The claim is that by spreading the load the sliders will offer enough strength to support the weight of the vehicle if needed.

I've been eyeing these too. They are definitely strong enough. They will give you the option to body lift your 4runner as soon as a body lift is available because they aren't mounted to the frame. I think the biggest concern for me is long term rust prevention. water getting in those rivet and screw holes over time and creek crossing.

If 4 wheeler magazine reviewed it positively, I guess it must not be bad. But I can't for the life of me believe that bolting something on to the body is going to be strong enough. Have you seen frame mounted rock rails get bent and twisted and mangled as the truck comes down hard on one side and hits rocks? I have. These just seem like they would rip the floor pan right off, in those cases.

I don't see them for gen4 4Runners. Only the gen 5 4runners..

They look pretty slick but I only see them for the 5th Gen as well.

I would be concerned about body damage in the event you were drop the sliders onto a rock or ledge, as another member stated. For only sliding purposes I'm sure they'd do ok.

The article says 'the weight of the truck can sit on them or they can be used as a jacking point' so I'm not sure I'd trust them with an impact force. But that's just based on a quick look at the design, mounting, and review.
