Hi! I'm new to this site, but not new to Toyotas (1979-1995 more specifically). I used to own a 1984 Toyota XtraCab 4x4... but later on requried a 4Runner. Thus began the transition to a 4Runner tub, a short bed 1985 frame, and a Lincoln zap box and I had a California smog-exempt 4Runner.
During a period in which I had lost my license (21 years old at the time... you do the math) my beloved Frankenyota was stolen. After picking up a rusted out (I know... rusty in California?) 1987 4Runner, my Frankenyota was recovered! So... I took the best of both worlds (smog exemption & EFI) I did a third body swap.
Anyway, sorry if that is either too long or lacking detail... I just wanted to express my history behind "vintage" Toyota 4x4's. I enjoy the company of other Toyota owners and felt joining a forum based solely on the Toyota 4Runner seemed logical
