Got the Borla ProXs after hearing it on TonyB66's truck.
I hate it...cause now I'll be buying more gas and driving more :bounce:
Mine's been on for over a year and haven't regretted the decision once!

It's got a great rumble between 1.5K to 2.5K RPM (under 35 MPG) and pretty quiet once on the freeway cruising.
I'm driving more local now just so I can hear it.

I only hear mine when I floor it pretty much other than that it's perfectly quiet. I love it

For those of you who have installed the Borla, does it sit a little farther away from the frame rail than the OEM? I assume it would as it is a bit smaller and that would be good for keeping heat off that frame rail.
And can anyone verify something for me? When Borla says 2.5 inch piping is that an I.D. or O.D. measurement on the muffler?

I don't quite recall how close the OEM unit was to the frame. That said, the Borla is markedly smaller, so I imagine it would have more clearance... It doesn't hang down as far also, which is nice. I believe tubing is OD. You might want to call Borla to make sure.

The 2.5" piping is slightly bigger than the oddly sized toyota piping of 2.4", if that helps at all.

I'll add to this that I bent the opening of the muffler down some to fit and welded it there, no leaks. I have the XR1, while I enjoy the sound it is pretty loud, it would be better suited to a V8 4th gen.

Agreed, it is pretty loud especially after break in but from 2400+ RPM it doesn't drone on the highway
Also, sounds really nice downshifting if you have a 5spd

I have a Pro XS on my truck for about two weeks all stock. The start up sounds great and around town in low RPM, it has a nice throaty sound to it that isn’t obnoxious. I’m like you in that I’m not looking to set off alarms or annoying the neighbors, but I just want something a little nicer sounding than the stock muted sound. Cruising on the freeway at 70-75, it’s a little bit louder than stock, but not by much. The throttle response has definitely improved. I recommend the Pro XS.

I admire your guys' tenacity! That was a tricky install for sure.
If it helps at all, Toyota used 2.4" exhaust piping (I'm sure it makes more sense in cm). That's why it looked like 2.25" but in reality is closer but not as big as 2.5". Great choice in a muffler though.
