Bought a 5th Gen This Weekend!!

Hello 5th gentlemen (and ladies). Some of you may know me and my 3rd gen from a few years ago when I was very active on the forum. I still have my '97 on 35s and still love it, but this weekend the wife and I brought home a new 2016 SR5! I was the first one to ever test drive it, with only 1 mile on the odo. All I can say is WOW!! I feel like I bought a time machine with all the technology in this thing, haha! Probably won't be doing any mods any time soon since this truck pretty much cleaned me out for a long while, but man this thing is awesome! My 4th 4runner. Anyways, pics...

Next to our '06 Tundra and my '98 regular cab 4x4 Taco in the background (which I'll be putting up for sale this week.. which is a little saddening because I love that little truck)...

Congrats!

You say it'll be stock for a while...you say it now but watch, your gonna be itching to mod if you hang around this forum. I bought my 4runner a year ago and within the first 3 weeks I started ordering parts for it. And I told myself it was just gonna be a daily stock commuter vehicle...

Happy modding :)

Congrats on the new 4Runner!

You'll definitely have no issue finding an owner for that pick-up. Such a dependable little truck.

I sold a Tacoma for my 4Runner too. It's hard, but you're right about it being a huge step forward.

Love that generation of Tundra too. You've got good taste.

Thanks everyone! I know it's probably only a matter of time before the mods begin.. but don't tell that to my wife!

Congrats. I love mine, mostly. Out of curiosity, does your 4Runner take a couple seconds of cranking to start once it's warmed up but has been off for 10-15 minutes? My dealer is trying to tell me this is "normal" since mine has been in the shop twice for it with no resolution.

Thanks! No, I haven't noticed any extra cranking after it sits for a few min. I'm going to run some errands in a little bit, so if it happens I'll let ya know...

Awesome, thanks. It doesn't seem normal, and it's irritating that they're refusing to work on it now to avoid enacting the lemon law. When I kick mine on first thing in the morning, it turns over once and fires right up. After it's been warmed up and then I leave it for ~15 minutes, it has to crank up to 3 seconds before it fires up. Needless to say I'm worried. And they're fighting me on it, so... Anyway, thanks for checking. Also, your 4R is gorgeous. That's my favorite color.

Love your avatar (you must be old).

Thanks...I guess? I sat, staring at my computer trying to decipher exactly what you mean in regard to my age but I have not the slightest idea. Do you mind explaining what you mean? And since we are throwing assumptions around (you must be tall)

Ha. Well, Zippy the Chimp dates to the '50s & 60's, making his debut on Howdy Doody, with appearances on Ed Sullivan.

Ergo, I assume anyone who knows of him ain't young, like I ain't.
