Bought my first 4runner today!

I joined the group today! We got a 2000 Limited, one owner with 102,000. All maintenance done at the dealer and rear locker! All it needs is a new set of tires. I don't know who drove it but I don't think they used the seats much. The leather is perfect!

Coming from a 2004 Subaru WRX with Stage 2 tuning (285HP) it's going to take some getting used to but I'm liking it!

We had a baby and the subie had to go. I can't wait for snow this winter. It was fun in that car but it had limits with clearance.

I'll post some pics up soon.

Congrats! I moved from a small turbocharged car to my 4Runner too. Well, my first 4Runner anyway, lol. You'll find that slowness is fun...because you go wherever the heck you want. :guitar3:

Congrats and welcome to the group!

Yeah, that rear diff locker is a pain for most people, dont bother asking anyone on the board, but Ill do you a huge favor and take it off your hands for you. You dont want the trouble associated with an elocker! ;):

Just go ahead and ship it to me and save yourself the pain and agony! ;):

Congrats man, I just bought an 02, went from an Impreza. No quite the same bump, but still hope your enjoying it as much as I am

Here are a few pics. New tires tomorrow and it'll be good to go!

There should be two if tapatalk worked right...

Nice buy. Also a former Subby guy, (04 STi and 98 RS2.5 2dr blue/gold). What are ur plans so far? A quick one that helps a lot is the blue wire mod which allows you to utilize that diff locker in 2hi and 4hi as well. Have fun I know I am. They definitely go places the STi wouldn't touch even though I've never had it over 100mph, kinda miss 160! Ohh well at least cops cant make it to the places I play now.:flipoff:

I hadn't heard about the blue wire mod. Ill definitely look into that. I was kind of bummed when I read that it would only work in 4L.

First things on my list are some sound system upgrades. I'm not going to go nuts but the cassette adapter connected to the droid does not sound good!

congrats and good score! welcome to the forum man!

meh i was like a littel heart broken when i found out about the locker but then i asked myself, how fast do i plan on going with the locker engaged? personally i'm only using it on steep rocks and deep mud neither of which the top speed is very fast, that said i'm still on the fence about the blue wire mod as well.

hope you enjoy your new truck man, it's a nice one and like you said that leather looks great the previous driver must have been a 80 lb light weight or something lol

Locker...

I've thought about doing the blue wire mod but to be honest, the only time I've ever used the locker, I was already in 4 lo. In fact, last time I went 'wheeling in July, we were in 4 lo for a good part of the day (going up and down the "whoop-do-do's" on Saints John) and I never engaged the Locker at all! So it's not really that much of an issue.

Thanks for the compliments on the leather. They might have been 80 lb but I'm 6-2 190lb. Ill have to be sure and do some leather conditioning and try to not slide too much. However, if worse comes to worse I was looking at a 99 that had rips and it was 250 to completely redo the seat so even that isn't as bad as I thought it would be if it ever comes to that.
