Brake Fluid Leak Master Cylinder

Hi everyone,
I know this is my first post but need advise before dropping 500 bucks to replace both my master cylinder and break booster. My brake lights came on and I refilled the cylinder, lasted 2 days and it came back on this morning. I had a buddy come out and check and sure enough there was a leak in the master cylinder. You can't tell very well from the picture attached but apparently it is leaking out right behind the cylinder onto the booster and dripping down. I can't tell if it is actually going into the booster or not. I have a 98 2dr v6 4runner and before replacing both items, is there anyway to tell if my booster needs replacing as well? Ok just found out it is leaking into the booster. Do I need to replace both in this case?

If it's leaking into the booster, the vacuum would then suck it into the engine, not good.
Maybe not right away, the fluid would have to eat thru the diaphragm first.

You sure it's not just because everything is sideways?

Similar Issue

I've been having the same issue. My leak is in the same exact spot. However, the fluid isn't leaking into the booster but is instead just leaking down the booster and then dripping onto the ground.

My brakes feel fine and I've just been refilling my brake fluid every couple of days. Is it as simple as replacing the master cylinder or does it somehow involve the booster as well?

Any advice or experience would be appreciated. Thanks!
