Brake pedal loses pressure when engine downshifts

Hey guys, I recently changed the driver side cv axle on my 03 4runner 4x4. After the axle change, my brake pedal has been feeling really strange. For example; If i am slowing down approaching a turn (with foot on brake pedal), the pedal feels normal until just as I am about to make the turn. Once the motor downshifts, the pedal loses pressure and it sinks farther down (though not all the way to the floor). Same thing happens when i am approaching a stoplight; pedal has normal pressure, until i get closer to the stop where the engine downshifts. I can pump the pedal and it will get harder, as normal.

My first thought was that I kinked a brake line removing the caliper to do the cv axle. I checked and everything is fine. Even topped off the fluid (after 40 pumps with key off). Does this sound like the MC needs bled? Any ideas? Appreciate the feedback!

That is where I would start. Re-bleed everything. Do you hear a little electric pump turning on and off more frequently? It would sound like it was behind your speedometer guage.

Ya I do hear the electric pump quite often. I hadn't heard the noise before because of the radio but when I drove with the radio off I hear it clearly. Not exactly sure if it is more often than before though.
